The first single released off the album, Battle Born, is a great song and shows that the life of a rock star is great, but it very strenuous and it takes a toll on anyone touring and performing day in and day out. Many of the musicians and artists are gone from friends and family for months at a time and it does make it hard for them to sacrifice so much to please their fans. I have seen FFDP twice and each time they always thank the fans for their support and still put on a great show even when the power goes out. The Songs Cradle to the Grave, Here to Die, and A Day in My Life, follow that same awesome Death Punch sound of previous songs like Coming Down and The Pride.
Their rendition of House of the Rising Sun is an incredible song, that like other covers, they basically make it their own. Much like the cover of Bad Company, they add their own lyrics and made slight changes to the song itself. Though the song unquestionably a heavy metal variation of the song you can still hear the folk influence and inspiration from which the song originated from. FFDP has the ability to turn any song into their own even their cover of Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J seemed like they wrote the song itself.
Like previous record the album has a deluxe edition which also features a live version of their songs, but this time its a video rather than just the songs. This offers a great chance to see FFDP anytime you want from the comfort of your living room. As well FFDP goes out of their way to make each performance special in it own way, by changing up songs and even devoting songs to fans and military members. Five Finger Death Punch continuously makes new material and each time its even better than the last.
