The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Death Punch Sound of Hell, Pt. 1

With the recent release of their new album, The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell vol. 1, and their tour on Mayhem Fest, Five Finger Death Punch has established themselves as one biggest names in music. Five Finger Death Punch is a metal band that incorporates other genres into their songs to make them unique. The new album features such artists as Tech N9ne, Maria brink of In This Moment, Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, and metal legend Rob Halford of Judas Priest. These artsits make this album special in numerous ways with the style, talent, and experience they bring to the table. As to with the artists that are featured the songs on the album vary from in your face metal to hip hop inspired covers. If you are willing to spend a little more for the deluxe edition it features a second live album which makes you fell as if your in the mist of a FFDP concert.

The first single off the album, Lift Me Up, Features the vocals of Rob Halford of Judas Priest, is a amazing song that not only offers the new metal sound of FFDP but the British New Wave that Judas Priest has pioneered. Since the songs release it has been played on all rock radio stations and was even the number one song on spotify, over various new pop songs that came out at the same time. The song itself is about how to overcome obstacles in life and rising above the challenges one will face in order to achieve your goals. The song, Anywhere But Here, that features Maria Brink of In This moment is reminiscent of Never Enough from the Way of the First album. It too along with Dot Your Eyes and I.M. Sin have two different versions one featuring the artists, and one with out.

Though Five Finger Death Punch has done covers, but making a Heavy Metal Version of Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J is really interesting. The song Features the rapper Tech N9ne and it is an interesting take on two genres that are often hard to combine. Dot Your Eyes with Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed is a amazing metal song that incorporates the hardcore lyrics and sound that Hatebreed represents. On the second CD on the deluxe edition features many of the best FFDP songs live and are the individuality that live songs offer. Wrong Side of Heaven is a great album and places Five Finger Death Punch at the forefront of the music industry.

Five Finger Death Punch has been around for eight years now, and they are becoming one of the biggest names in music. After headlining numerous concerts and festivals including Mayhem Fest, it is evident FFDP will the new face of metal. The new album The Wrong Side of Heaven has been well reviewed by critics and I feel it too has become a staple of how they should continue with this trend of creating music. With the second volume due on the way I'm excited to see what new music and artists will included on the new album. Five Finger Death Punch has become one of my favorite bands and I feel will become one of the biggest music acts in the coming years.
